The oscillators are also optimized for fast amplitude and frequency modulation response for accurate tone reproduction.

Superwave 8 Free is one of the best Free Hip Hop or Rap vsts online today. We put together a little demo you can hear it by pressing the play button. The whole track took about 5 minutes to put together, and everything but the drums where made using SuperWave 8. The bassline, the keyboard blips, and the echoing synth hit. All 3 where made using this lovely Hip Hop VST. I call it a Hip Hop vst but its realy a multipurpose vst. Sounds like this free VSTi is worth checking out. Some posts on Vintage Synth Explorer call it out as one of the best free VSTis out there. It apparently does a great job at the Roland JP8000 supersaw. AM Trance Gizmo - Trance VST created by Angular Momentum. A weird little gizmo, can produce harsh sounds, but also nice athmospheres. Nice in Trance, Breakbeat, Downtempo, DnB etc... Tested in Cubase, FL, Aodix, Buzz Machines and Project 5. Easy installer, have fun! When we tested this we really didn't feel that it was that great of a trance vst plugin? We tried to get some trance sounds out.. and the closet we could come to was some high resonated 303 sounding bits. So we played around with it a bit more and put an audio demo out for you to preview. While it's free, I personally didn't like it much for trance. Maybe for some minimal techno, funk, or edgey break bass loops?

Deckadance can be controlled using most (if not all) existing MIDI controllers and time-coded vinyl and CD systems. It works either as a standalone program or as a VSTi plugin inside a VST host. * ReLooping: The Deckadance Relooper features the ability to re-slice any beat-analyzed track and re-arrange the beat. The Relooper includes a set of master effects for added customization of the sound and can be used to create stutter effects, or to extend infinite parts of a track to create unique breaks, intros or outros. The Relooper also supports unique loop and leap features which allow the track to continue from the point it would have reached if no loop had occurred.

Booming bassdrums, saucy cymbals and crispy snares can be used to describe the sound of drum machines from the early 80's. ADM contains three classic vintage drum machines from that era rolled into one, combined with a 32-step internal sequencer and pattern controlled fx (PCF). Get all your patterns into ADM via the Import Rebirth function or directly from your old 909 via sysex (we will provide a free tool for dumping sysex).
Sounds
ADM contains 25 drum generators, each one carefully modeled after the classics' analog circuits and 4 PCM players, for a total of 34 sounds (some generators have two sounds). Certain sounds have been extended with extra parameters, like the tuning and attack of the 606 bassdrum. The accents effect on bridged-T oscillators that make up the bassdrum and tom-tom sounds has been closely simulated and the hihats and cymbals sound and react very close to the originals.

In fact it can control any of the drum machines parameters, for example you can set the amount of snappy on each step or switch from maracas to handclap on specific steps, giving the illusion of more polyphony (something that had to be done by hand on the original machine). The PCF can also control the amount of mangle (a type of distortion) on specific steps, and if the FX should be applied to a sound or not.

In case you are still wondering, this program can modify your voice. However, this is not all that it does. In fact, it can modify any sound that you hear or record using your sound card. It can be used to modify your voice in online chatting or to add real-time effects to music. If you don't want someone to know your real voice, AV Voice Changer can come in handy.

The program is relatively easy to use. It intercepts any audio signal that passes through your sound card and modifies it. It can hook the WaveOut signal as well as DirectX audio streams. This means that it's compatible with virtually every media software. I tried recording my changed voice with Windows's Sound Recorder and had no problems. I also tried using the call feature of Yahoo Messenger, while AV Voice Changer was running. I didn't find any compatibility issues. Everything worked like a charm. Well, I had a minor problem, but it wasn't a software issue. The friend I called, hang up on me because he didn't recognize my voice.

You can choose whether you want to hear your modified voice in your speakers by clicking the "Duplex" button. AV Voice Changer features a sound recorder. It can be used to save the audio output of your sound card. The recorder supports naming the captured sound files automatically by using templates. You can modify these templates. For example, you could name the captured files depending on the application, which was capturing or playing, at the time-and-date when recording started.

The "Nickvoices" feature gives you access to a couple of voice changing presets. These presets will make you sound like a baby, like an opera singer, or even like the opposite sex. Of course, it's also possible to modify the pitch and the timbre of your voice. As owner of AV Voice Changer, you can download the newest voice effects from the publisher's website.

Pluses: It's possible to modify the tone of your voice by using the graphic equalizer embedded in this software. Sawer is a vintage modeling synthesizer, that cuts through the mix to deliver precisely articulated and punchy sounds. Sawer pays homage to the envelopes and filters of a rare 1980's Soviet analog synthesizer, Polivoks. Maxx has devoted meticulous attention to the detail of Sawer's filter and envelope designs, ensuring Sawer delivers a unique sonic character reminiscent of the Polivoks hardware. But Polivoks, like all analog synthesizers, wasn't without its problems. Keeping the oscillators stable and in tune has been likened to 'moving a pile of live frogs, by wheelbarrow', impossible! As Sawer is algorithmic, this solves the problems of tuning and stability, however, in the same way electrical component instability makes analog gear unique (if not cranky), Sawer benefits from the 21st century equivalent, a coding error.

While programming the SAW oscillator, Maxx accidentally set some incorrect variables and immediately the sound gained bass, acquired some light but pleasing noise on the attack and an overall richer sonic spectra. Maxx realized this was no mistake but a discovery and built on this, adding some frequency modulation to give it a touch of analog authenticity and so 'Sawer' was born.

Drumkit From Hell aka DFH was originally created to address Toontrack Music´s own needs for better and heavier drums in musicproduction. As a result the Toontrack productionteam decided to record a drumlibrary with the best musicians and producers available in Swedish heavy metal.

Little did they know what they had started. Drumkit From Hell was awarded 5 of 5 in Sound on Sound and an EQ Magazine Exceptional Quality award and launched Toontrack Music and the DFH brand in a major way into the sample business enabling the development of the Superior and EZdrummer samplers. To celebrate and signify the importance of Drumkit From Hell Toontrack has decided to re-release it as an EZX expansion pack for EZdrummer.
The DFH EZX contains the essence of what Toontrack is originally all about. The commitment to excellence through collaboration with the best players and producers aimed at helping you to make better, more inspired music. This version of DFH includes both the original DFH release and the Add-On pack that was released subsequently. The sounds for DFH were played, recorded and produced at Dug Out studios by Tomas Haake, Daniel Bergstrand, Mattias Eklund and Fredrik Thordendal. Toontrack EZdrummer - The Vintage Rock Brushes and Sticks (Expnsion)

The Vintage Rock Brushes and Sticks EZX contains recordings of the legendary Ludwig Keystone Drum Set.

The Ludwig Drum Company had little idea what was about to hit them in the months following February 9th 1964, The Beatles debut U.S. Television appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. The band were a sensation and almost overnight everyone wanted to own a set of Ludwig drums just like Ringo's. In fact, Ludwig were still struggling to keep up with demand when along came another drumming icon John Bonham. As well as his use of the Supraphonic snare drum, Bonham popularised larger sizes, including the 24" bass drum similar to the one sampled for the Vintage Rock Brushes and Sticks EZX. This 60's era Ludwig set belongs to 2khz Studio owner Nick Yeatman and we were very happy he lent it to us so we could capture that phat and funky Ludwig sound.

The Ludwig Keystone Kit was played by Chris Whitten and mixed by producer Peter Henderson and Mattias Eklund from Toontrack Music. To it we´ve added the classic Ludwig Black Beauty and Slingerland Radio King snares and a number of cool complimentary cymbals. The Vintage Rock - Brushes and Sticks EZX is topped up with customized MIDI played by top notch drummer Morgan Ågren (Frank Zappa).

I was excited when Toontrack asked me to collaborate on this product. Most of the work I've done in the studio and live have not been traditional Latin or African music, but rather Rock, Pop or Jazz-type sessions. Most of the sampling libraries I've come across however, have been geared more towards traditional Ethnic music. I felt there was a need for a sample library with sounds adapted to these situations.

I´ve spent years studying traditional music, but also spent an equal amount of time trying to get some sort of "signature" sound, a sound that works live as well as in the studio, a sound that has some soul to it and I wanted to be sure that came through on the sampled sounds. Much to my satisfaction the guys from Toontrack shared my vision and from the get-go we planned and recorded everything with this in mind. I also wanted a wide variety of sounds and through the generous help of MEINL Percussion we have been able to provide the vital instruments for making recordings in the aforementioned genres. All the instruments were recorded in different sizes and materials. From large to small, from wood to fiberglass etc. Carrying this DVD around will be a lot easier than lugging all those instruments around (thank god for cartage services by the way...). Time to get the groove going.

The Twisted Kit EZX was developed in collaboration with Michael Blair and Sontronics Microphones.
In October of 1985 Tom Waits released the album Rain Dogs. The album was an instant classic and marked a new sound for him. A rough, dirty neo-blues style with awkward rhythms and hard edges.
Part of the band that contributed to that sound was drummer and percussionist Michael Blair. His highly personal instrument set-up which included a mix of regular drums and odd bits and pieces like trashcans, bedroom furniture and rusty bicycle frames fit perfectly with the sound that Waits was looking for. The combination of Michael's timing, expression, and junkyard sounds created a rich and useful range of musical textures to accent Waits' intricate storytelling.
Michael Blair also played and toured with Waits on Franks Wild Years, the follow up to Rain Dogs, and later became an integral part of the recordings for Elvis Costellos Spike (1989) and Lou Reed's Magic and Loss (1992). Spike became Costellos most commercially successful and sonically adventurous album to date. Michael also has added his trash-can consciousness to records by the respected producer Hal Willner, in "tribute" albums celebrating the work of composer Kurt Weill, poet Allen Ginsberg, Walt Disney, Charles Mingus and in collaboration with avant-theatre director Robert Wilson.
In a review of Lou Reed's poignant Magic And Loss album, David Fricke from Rolling Stone magazine wrote the following about Michael Blair's work:

Drummer Michael Blair is an almost invisible presence, combining lithe percussive flourishes with the heartbeat simplicity of Maureen Tucker's timekeeping with the Velvets.

So, two rototom frames form a tonal hi-hat, a duck call suggests an alternative cowbell, tack drums from China become rack toms and putting the hubcap of your very first car on top of your snare seems like the right thing to do. Michael Blair crosses over boundaries of industrial, blues, ethnic, orchestral, and replacement percussion to form a unique sound.
